Hilary saw a pain / rehab specialist, Dr. Zaharoff, Monday about the pain in her left ankle / foot. She told us that Hilary had a torn ligament "under" the left ankle most likely due to the rapid growth caused by the excess growth hormone levels from the pituitary tumor.

She explained that the muscles and facia sometimes can't keep up with the bone growth. Thank God those levels are going down, now. Dr Z told Hil to ice down the ankle 3 times a day, and she will have Physical Therapy for the next three weeks and see how it does.

On Wednesday, Hil saw Dr. Carter, the neuro-ophthalmologist at the med school in follow-up. She continues to improve and the "grayscale" chart test is the "best it's ever been" since she has started seeing him. He is going to continue her on the Aspirin and the Trental (the other blood thinner). He wants to see her again in 3 months and then 6 months after that if everything continues to go well like it has. YEAH!!!

As a side note, even though Hil missed most of her morning classes in December due to the, then, daily hyperbaric treatments, she came away with an A Honor Roll for the semester (straight A's!!!). What an amazing young lady, huh? For her Freshman year at O'Connor H.S., next year she is enrolled in 5 Honors classes, plus German, Nutrition / Interior Design, and a P.E./"dance" class. Gonna be busy. :)
