Hilary saw her neurosurgeon, Dr. Bogaev, on Tuesday, 01/03/06, for a routine follow-up visit. He continues to be pleased with her progress regarding the improving eyesight issues, and agrees that as the steroid dose is decreased her blood sugar levels will return to normal.

He shared with us that in his experience with young patients, he has no reason to believe that her vision won't return to normal, or so close to normal that Hilary won't notice a little speck here or there that she can't see on the formal computerized visual fields tests. He is going to keep her on the Neurontin since it seems to be helping the nerve pain to her left wrist and ankle (along with the massage therapy).

Hilary will get another MRI in two weeks and see Dr. Bogaev again. If there is continuing tumor shrinkage he said he will change Hilary's MRI's from every six weeks to every three months!

She sees Dr. Akright, her endocrinologist, next week and we'll see if her Growth Hormone levels are continuing their downward trend.
