-- Hilary's Medical Situation --

December 7, 2005

Well, Hilary’s blood sugar is not responding too well to the Insulin. She is still ranging in the 300-500’s range, even giving the max dose ordered, “before meals and at bedtime”. We got in touch with Dr. Akright, and are now checking her glucose EVERY TWO HOURS and giving Insulin injections EVERY TWO HOURS depending on what the results are. Hopefully this will get control of it so Hilary can think more clearly and not be so tired all the time. We are thinking there is a contraindication between long acting Insulin and hyperbaric treatments. Hopefully, Dr. Carter will decrease the steroid dose more tomorrow, which might help with all this.
