-- Hilary's Medical Situation --

November 23, 2005

Hilary had three follow-up appointments this week. The first was with the orthotic back brace guy, who checked out the brace and Hil’s skin. He made a few minor adjustments that should make it a little more bearable, hopefully. She is up to 11 hours a day plus sleeping in it.

Second, Hilary saw her pediatrician and updated him as to all the radiation-induced optic neuritis (partial blindness) in her right eye. Overall, he was pleased with the progress she was making and with the level of care she is receiving from her seven consultant specialists / physicians.

Lastly, Hilary saw the neuro-ophthalmologist at the medical school again today to see how the visual fields are doing on the maintainence dose of steroids. Her vision in the right eye has slightly improved over last weeks test! The plan is to keep her on the current dose and see her again next week. (pant... pant... pant...)

Thank you, everyone, for you continued prayers. Hope you all have a Wonderful Thanksgiving!

Love,
The Morrows
