Entry for January 1, 2006
2006-- WOW!!! I can’t believe it’s been over a year that all this “stuff” came up. 2005 was an eventful year, I can tell you that, but not all of the events were bad. Yeah, a surgery, summer being taken away from me because of all the restrictions, the radiation treatment, finding out Anne had lung cancer, and so many other little things, can kinda make you want to forget that year, but a lot of good things happened, too.
For instance, Canon!!! I am SO happy that he finally got a good liver and everything is working wonderfully!
Another thing, I got to go to Virginia. It was beautiful! I wasn’t too fond of the sight of the University Hospital, but the scenery was breath-taking! I also got to fly for the first time, going to Virginia. That was an experience I’m still not really sure I enjoyed, though!
Oh, man, Christmas was good this year! Mom and Dad outdid any Christmas I can ever remember!! (Although the ski trip to Colorado comes pretty close!) I had been going on and on about how much I wanted an iPod, and that’s all I wanted. Yeah, yeah. I was actually pretty sure I wasn’t getting one just because the one I wanted happened to be $399.99 and the cheapest one AVAILABLE wasn’t much cheaper. I felt so selfish so I told myself I would probably lose it or something anyways. Ha, ha! Christmas morning comes; I open that small, square box; you should have checked my pulse, ‘cuz I sure didn’t feel my heart meat for two the whole minutes I was trying to tear open that little bitty box! It’s so shiny! It’s so pretty! Its so-- MINE! I couldn’t stop looking at it! As soon as the last gift was opened, I installed the software and started downloading all of my cds and digital pictures and now I’m working on figuring out how to download my dvds. The instruction booklet isn’t that big, but it’s still confusing and I’m not experimenting because there is no way I’m endangering Bertha (that’s what I named her!) like that! Jk. But, really, in case I didn’t show it enough, my appreciation and thanks a million, Mom and Dad!!!
But, anyways, back to the good things of 2005.
Dixie’s baby, Jaylee, was born healthy and adorable, and still is. Meagan got her driver’s license. I’m getting closer to getting my license! He, he! I got a goldfish and named him Jimmy and he is just cuter than anything! I made several friends into really good friends. The thing that’s makes me happiest that it is January 1, 2006 is the fact that we only have five more moths until school is out-- YES! I am so ready for a break from everything, and, after not being able to do anything last summer, my anticipation is even greater!
Well, Happy New Year, everyone, and I hope it brings good memories to all of you! God Bless!
Love,
Hilary
