No school for two whole weeks!!!!! Wow! I finally get to sleep in for a while! Hyperbaric treatments have switched appointment times to 12:30 instead of 7:30 so that's just great! My eye is doing so much better and the tingling in my left foot/arm/hand is almost nearly gone.
I did have a little accident last week, though. I tried out for the tennis team (and after all this, I didn't even make it!) and now I have a scar to remember it by! Here's the story. I was wearing tennis shoes, as it was tennis tryouts, and I haven't worn them in a couple of months so I wasn't quite used to them; I went for a ball and I tripped; my chin hit the blacktop and skidded; my lip busted wide open and blood was the only thing I tasted; I rolled over on my back and couldn't help from laughing because it hadn't even been five minutes and I had managed to hurt myself! Everyone thought I was crying (i guess i must have looked pretty bad) and they kept asking me if I was okay. "Yeah, I'm fine!" was my answer but, in truth, it hurt bad!
The coach gave me a paper towel to keep on my lip to try and stop it from bleeding, but it didn't seem to want to stop. Then I remembered, oh yeah, I'm on blood thinners. Great! So my chin, top and bottom, and my bottom lip kept bleeding while I continued to try and make the team. Now, the scab on my chin is nearly gone but I have a feeling there will be a scar for years to come. The good thing is, the hyperbaric treatments are contributing to the healing process so those sessions aren't such a bad thing after all. Well, kind of. Today, when they started adding pressure into my chamber, my ear decided it wanted to act up. As you all know, or maybe you don't, your ears pop like crazy when they put you in. So, my ear popped; okay that's normal. But then it started hurting. Okay, hmmm... maybe I should tell them. They said that if you are congested then the pressure might be harder to handle. Well, that's just dandy. I have a little cold, so, yeah, I'm congested. Great. Well, what do we do? They ended up just adding the pressure REALLY slow so it took forever to get to the "final destination", but it all worked out in the end. My ear still hasn't popped back to normal yet but the hyperbaric staff told me to take a Sudafed every morning and night to try and dry up some of that drainage in my ears. Hopefully that will work and I won't have any more problems...!
On a happier note, FIVE MORE DAYS 'TILL CHRISTMAS!!! YAY! I have so many presents to wrap, it's not even funny! That's my goal today-- get them all wrapped! Yeah right. That's never gonna happen. But I'm gonna try!
Oh my gosh, I almost forgot! I got a goldfish yesterday and I named him Jimmy! I don't know why, but I had a sudden urge to get a fish and so I did! He's adorable and it seems like he likes his new home. I bought him a a little tank with a pink top and it goes great in my bubblegum-pink room. He's a little scared still but I think he'll get used to it soon.
Okay, well, I'm going to go try and get some of those gifts wrapped (if I can find any tape) and stick 'em under the tree! Talk to ya'll later!
Love Ya Lots,
Hilary
