June 30 Thank You Notes

The campaign is just getting underway and this is a part of it that I desperately want to keep up with.  I hope that Drew and I can continuously convey how much we appreciate all the support specifically for Canon and for our family in general.  In general, I want you to know that if you have lifted Canon up in prayer, we thank you just for being on our side in this battle against the terrors of being human.  I want to shout from the rooftops the names of people who have bent over backwards for us so that everyone knows how profoundly they have affected our lives.

J     First, thank you to our parents, brothers, and sister.  For the hours you’ve spent in prayer for the three of us (four of us!) and for all the prayer lists we’ve been added to because of you.  Thank you Daddy for all the time you’ve spent on this website – thank you for remembering how helpful it was for us to have Amberly’s website for support.

J     Thank you to our key volunteers – Tye and Jere Lamberth (media and campaign coordinator), Teri Campbell (campaign coordinator), Jennifer Little (account trustee), and Mark Williams (media coordinator).  I had no idea what we were really asking for when we asked for your help, and that didn’t matter to you; you said “Yes” anyway.  Jesus said that there is no greater love than one that would lay down his life for a friend.  In a big way, that’s what you are doing, without counting the cost.  Thank you.

J     Thank you to Dr. Young, Canon’s pediatrician.  When he found out that we would need help raising money, he made a public plea on Canon’s behalf to the church family at Amarillo South during one of his gospel quartet concerts.  That group of about 150 people responded by contributing our first $700 toward Canon’s campaign.  Dr. Young’s resolve and the generosity of that group of people gave me new optimism for the future.

J     Thank you to the group of students at Travis Middle School in Mark Williams’s class.  During the last week of school, they raised $75 for Canon’s transplant.  God bless you, Mark, and all the students.

J     Thank you to Kyle Wade for acting without hesitation on helping to raise money for Canon.

J     Thank you to Wade and Michelle Mitchell’s life group for planning a church-wide fundraiser, for thinking big and considering Canon a worthy way to outreach for Christ.

J     Thank you to the anonymous person at Southwest Church of Christ who wants to give us a photo session with Justin Nash.  What a thoughtful way to help us preserve this precious time with Canon.  Thank you so much!
